R&D Management offer a wide range of services to both professionals and the public. Whether you are an Architect, Building Surveyor, Structural Engineer, Interior Designer, Main Contractor or DIY Self Installer we can provide the following.
On-site investigation and diagnosis
This includes situations within a property where water ingress has caused widespread damage to interior fittings but the source and cause of the ingress is unknown. By exploratory "opening up" and the use specialist testing equipment, such faults can be accurately diagnosed and recommendations given for rectification. Quite often this particular service is required to accompany an insurance claim and to assist the loss adjuster in processing a claim.
Surveys, Reports and Specifications including Damp Surveys.
In new build or existing properties where a basement is to constructed or converted, under current BS. 8102 guidelines consideration must be given to the water table when designing a Waterproofing system. Being fully conversant with current regulations R&D Management's staff can survey the premises, liaise with any relevant parties i.e. Architects, Engineers, etc. and provide a report and specification for a Tanking System most appropriate for use in a particular situation. Independent Damp Surveys can help pinpoint damp problems and recommend remedial work leaving you free to use the Contractor of your choice.
Estimating and Feasibility Studies
Having decided and agreed upon the most appropriate Tanking System to be installed. To save unnecessary time and effort seeking quotations from installing contractors an estimated costing against the specification items can be prepared to determine the economic feasibility of the scheme.
Tender Evaluation and Analysis
Assuming the feasibility study falls within the allocated budget, tender packages are prepared and sent out to recommended installing companies to provide quotations on a like for like basis. These quotations and terms and conditions can then be studied and reported upon to ensure the client receives best value for money.
This service will be of particular interest to individuals who have little or no knowledge of the Waterproofing and Damp-proofing Industry and require an intermediary to deal with installing contractors and other relevant parties on their behalf and may also appeal to the DIY self installer. Our staff are able to attend regular site meetings, document and photograph relevant stages of the installation and report to the client variations to the installation that may become apparent as works proceed. Upon completion of the project construction manuals are prepared to include maintenance schedules, guarantee documentation and a certificate of completion confirming that all works have been carried out in accordance with the specifications.
Flood Risk Assessments.
Flood risk assessments are now a requirement of Planning Departments in many Local Authorities before permission can be granted to construct habitable space below ground level i.e. Basements.
The Flood Risk Assessment requirement is most notable in those areas alongside the tidal stretches of the River Thames, particularly affecting developments within 1.2 kilometres of the river banks. We carry out Flood Risk Assessments to which can be attached a schedule of Flood Defence Measures coupled with Structural waterproofing Design Specifications, thus ensuring all criteria is met during the early stages of the project. All design work is tailored to suit the requirements of each scheme in conjunction with the Architects, Structural Engineers and Clients.
